E.Q.: Where does the inspiration come from to improve upon the design of things?
Objective: Students will generate artistic work by conceptualizing, organizing, and completing their artistic ideas. They will refine original work through persistence, reflection and evaluation.
Ever wonder why somethings look the way they do or move the way they do? Sometimes there has been a president set by all the things that came before and no one stops to think, “Hey wouldn’t it be better if…..?”

Environmentally friendly more aesthetically pleasing lighter stronger have more functions cheaper more efficient more ergonomic save time more fun bring people together solve problems etc.
Using the rubric in the file attached, identify your level of expertise in each of the categories as 1-4. 4-Distinguished, 3-Proficient, 2-Apprentice, 1-Novice

- In your sketchbook, write down the problems with your selected object
- Write down how your redesign can improve it in at least 2 ways.
- Draw a sketch with notes about what it will now look like.
- Talk to me about your idea
- Determine how you could build a model or prototype of the redesigned object and what materials you will need to make it look authentic.
- Build the model/prototype
- Turn it in with the sketchbook work and complete the evaluation/ rubric.
